Shanghai Huxi sponsors Shanghai university students' laboratory safety knowledge competition

On November 9, the 2021 "Shengle Cup" Shanghai University Students' Laboratory Safety Knowledge Competition was held at the Student Activity Center of Shanghai 

Ocean University. Min Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Municipal Education and Health Work and Deputy Director of Municipal Education Commission, 

was present to present the awards to the winners. Wang Hongzhou, Secretary of Party Committee of Shanghai Ocean University, Jiang Xinghao, Chairman of Shanghai 

Higher Education Laboratory Management Research Association, and Zhang Xu, Director of Logistics and Security Department of Municipal Education Commission 

delivered speeches.

The competition was guided by the Safety Office of Shanghai Education Commission, the Professional Committee of Security Work of Shanghai Higher Education Society, 

and the Shanghai University Laboratory Management Research Association, with the guidance of Tongji University, East China Normal University, Donghua University, 

Shanghai University of Technology, Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai Ocean University, Shanghai Electric Power University, Shanghai University of Science and 

Technology, Shanghai University, Shanghai Normal University, Shanghai University of Applied Technology, Shanghai Second Shanghai University of Science and Technology, 

Shanghai University, Shanghai Normal University, Shanghai University of Applied Science and Technology, Shanghai Second Institute of Technology, Shanghai Institute 

of Electrical Engineering, Shanghai College of Health Sciences and 14 other universities, and Shanghai Ocean University is the organizer. Ltd. is the sponsor of this Shanghai 

university students' laboratory safety knowledge competition, and was invited to participate in this competition as well.

In his welcome speech, Wang Hongzhou reviewed the initiatives of Shanghai Ocean University to carry out laboratory safety education and create laboratory safety 

culture, pointing out that laboratory safety in colleges and universities is not only the bottom line of safety, but also an important educational platform for cultivating 

safety awareness, improving safety skills and shaping comprehensive literacy and ability, and an important channel for colleges and universities to practice the fundamental 

task of establishing moral education and for schools to implement the three comprehensive education and five education together.

Jiang Xinghao pointed out that Shanghai colleges and universities are committed to disseminating laboratory safety knowledge to teachers and students, actively 

eliminating laboratory safety hazards, cultivating laboratory safety disposal skills and raising everyone's safety awareness, and laboratory safety management is being 

carried out in an orderly manner. Shanghai Ocean University hosted the municipal-level competition to stimulate the enthusiasm of the majority of students to learn 

laboratory safety knowledge, which has caused a good response among the participating universities.

Zhang Xu expressed his hope that the universities would inspire the school management to strengthen the whole life cycle management of laboratories and improve 

the management level through the competition, that the participating students would continuously strengthen their safety literacy and safety awareness through the 

competition, and that the students would bring the safety knowledge they learned into their daily study life.

The theme of the contest is to strengthen the effect of laboratory safety knowledge dissemination, mobilize students' enthusiasm to participate and stimulate their 

interest in independent learning. Teachers and students should take up the responsibility for themselves, their families, the school and the society, so that everyone 

pays attention to safety and always pays attention to safety.

The competition was divided into two parts: the promotion round and the final round, in which six teams, including Shanghai Maritime University, East China Normal 

University, Shanghai University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Ocean University, Donghua University and Shanghai University of Applied Science and Technology, 

competed for the final round through three links: "individual answer", "team answer" and "inter-team answer". Shanghai Maritime University, East China Normal University, 

Shanghai University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Ocean University, Donghua University and Shanghai University of Applied Science and Technology were selected 

to enter the final round. In the final round, all teams showed their strong strength and finally Shanghai Maritime University won the championship, Shanghai Ocean University 

and Shanghai University of Applied Science and Technology won the first prize, East China Normal University, Shanghai University of Science and Technology and Donghua 

University won the second prize, and other teams won the third prize.

The competition created a laboratory culture among colleges and students, promoted learning through competition, and encouraged college students to enhance safety awareness, improve safety skills, take the initiative to learn laboratory safety knowledge, eliminate laboratory safety hazards, and create a safe and harmonious laboratory safety environment.
